German, Vintage Wilesco Carnival ‘Strength Tester’ Tin Toy with Original Box ~ An authentic collectors piece from a company that has been making toys in Germany for over 100 years, Wilesco. These toys, however, were not Wilesco’s focus. The company actually specializes in real miniature, working steam engines, which you can still buy today, new or antique. The steam engines power the various toys and figures, such as this one, through a series of wheels and belts. Wilesco launched series of steam-powered toys, so that customers could build anything from moving model factories of workman, to entire amusement parks with spinning merry go rounds, Ferris wheels, swings, and classic carnival games, as shown here. This specific toy is called “The Striker.” It is vintage and in mint condition with its original box. Without a steam engine attached, our contestant can still try his strength with the help of your hand.
